2009 Bay Sport License Info update

complimentry license is the license given to the owner of the bay sport license....it is an individual license issued and only good for that person...so that is right....

I understand that the consolidated bay license still only allows 1 bu. per boat without  an additional licensed crabber aboard but i purchased it so in the event I take a neighbor or friend out, they wouldn't have to spend $10 for 1 trip. Also, if the others who go with me can't make it, I could get someone to go so I have company and a trap puller.

One of the paragraphs Brenda wrote was this:

Your bay sport fishing license does include a complimentary crabbing license, but it covers only the person that purchased the license.  I should take a look at what is on the website because the complimentary crabbing license has never covered everyone on the boat. NRP knows that an individual is licensed to crab w/ the decal and if you take your paperwork with you it will allow you to crab anywhere else as well, but crabbing is not specifically mentioned. 

In the past, the Consolidated bay sport license never had to cover anyone else. If another person was in the boat and unlicensed, you were still allowed a bu. and the other person could participate. You still needed another license in the boat to  keep 2 bu. The only thing this license would cover is for another unlicensed crabber to be covered to participate. You could still only keep 1 bu. This is my interpretation and am probably wrong.

The decal on the boat covers everyone; the actual paper document you receive with the decal serves as your complimentary fishing/crabbing license so that if you go fish/crab on someone elses boat, YOU are covered.
