Just thinkin; has anyone ever tried to smoke crabs? I mean clean them first then throw them into some hickory or mesquite smoke. It is safe to say that you can put anything into a smoker and it will be delicious. Any thoughts?

I haven't done blue crabs yet but I did cook snow crabs out on the grill and they came out good. So I do want to try blue crabs on the grill too. By the way I don't use a propane grill. Its charcoal with hicory and mesquite chips for smoke in a Weber kettle grill...Charlie

I tried it one time camping, we tossed them in the smoke from hickory... they did not taste very good, we did not have a steamer so we tried it that way, and will never again. tainted the meat in my opinion. pure and simple crab meat is best in its purest form ----just steamed....
