Its hard to believe that with such a good crab season this year ,there werent many if any mumbos reported.my buddy caught 20 bushels this summer in various spots in MD and had nothing over 8". Here in florida I had a good season but same thing, didnt get any mumbos. The comm crabber here is getting Mumbos of 8" and bigger. Its just surprising the crab counts were up 2-3 times this year but not alot of size..

Similar to what Ronster and I were saying earlier this week, 'cept it was about life. Quality of versus quantity. I'd rather have an extra couple bushels than one mumbo. Call it personal preference. Don't get me wrong, still nice to see a biggun' every oncest in a while. Come to think of it, we had a topic in the members section a while back. Mostly about bigguns'. Obama vs. Bush?

If it takes a chicken and a half a day and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long would it take for a squirrel with a wodden leg to kick the seeds out of a dill pickle? Think about it, or not.

Part of the reason that there were not more as you say ,mumbos, is because of the increase in population. because the crab # s being up is partly due to sook restricictions these jr crabs had time to become legal and then some but next year even larger crabs should be more evident as the overall pop. matures aand gets older, mainly in certain pasts of the bay where the salinity is best for growth and as long as there's not too much pressure. thats my pediction

Agreed.   The crab size was down but the quantities were way up.
