I was wondering if any of you northeastern commercial guys have any insight into the catch shares programs that are being implemented up there. They are talking about bringing it here to NC as well. I am a commercial crabber and am scared to death of this thing. Thanks in advance for any replies.....

Just another form of Socialism being driven upon us. Pretty soon we'll all be forced to live in large mushrooms, wearing white trousers and floppy white hats, and sharing our Smurfberries equally as we try to avoid the evil (capitalist) wizard who wants to turn us to gold and/or eat us.
Even at 10 I was smart enough to see the Smurfs were nothing more than communist propaganda being thrust on America's youth.

I fished in limited entry fisheries( read: no entry) for years......It's usually done on a per species basis........if your in.... your in, if your out... your out.......The tough part is showing landing's for each species you have a permit for.......if you have no slips for some product in a year's period they will try and take that particular endorsement away from you.......
