Circles for stripers(rock)

New to circle hook fishing for bass.....I fish a lot of rocky bottom.....you tend to lose a lot of rigs.......Using big dollar owner,etc hooks is a little to expensive.....Can anyone give me a heads up on a good,inexpensive circle hook for striper's??

I can't help cause I only use Gomatsu and Owner hooks but I buy hooks in bulk and snell my own.  That helps keep the cost down.

 When fishing the Delaware river I have to use Circle hooks for Stripers. I use Gamaktsu  They run 2.99 per 6  5/0  I have used Lazer  5/0 ran me 5.99 per 20 (Cabela's pricing) But with Circle you want the hook to be super sharp.  All I do is raise the rod tip and start reeling  When I fish stripers in the bay or out front It is  J hooks for me.  I like to set a hook

Gamagatsu's are very good hooks as are owner's... just remember fishing circle hooks don't set the hook you will pull it right out of the fish's mouth...
rather just wind your reel and it will roll the hook right into the side corner of the fishes mouth.. pretty cool.. even if a fish takes a hook down they come right back up and will roll to the corner...like anything else you pay for what you get.....especially if you hook a big fish ... don't want to break a cheaper hook on a fish of a lifetime to save a few cents....

How can you smell something "fishy?"   Everyone knows there aren't any fish down there.

just curious, but when I bass fish i take a small rubber band and i place it on the top of the hook ( where the line ties to the hook ) and then at the little barb on the inside of the hook. That keeps me from snagging logs, rocks and what ever else might be in the water for the most part . My question is why would this not work for fishing salt water over rocky areas ?

Yes. But it wouldn't help with gut hooking.  We have slots (18" to 28" etc.) to deal with and allot of fish have to be released.....

It's not just rocks.......vast mussel beds of open, pumping bivalves......When the line tickles the shellfish they clamp shut hanging the rig........what does a longcasting rig cost??? swivel,flouro leader,beads,fishfinder rig,sinker and expensive hook......it does add up.........

Hey Gene make sure you find out what kind of replacement they are going to use there is a recall on some knee & hip replacements. I know the hip brand name was Depuy (sp) I will see if I can find the knee one
