A friend of mine bought a nice scope that has night vision capability as well as using it during day light hours. The cool thing is that it can take video while using it. He had a video of him shooting a doe with his cross bow this year. neat stuff. I do not know the name of the scope but can find out the info if you would like!

I have a Night Owl Optics monocular, that was given to me.  I don't use it much.

I have never used any other night vision so I have nothing to compare it to but it's pretty impressive.

I tried to read up on NV but there is just to much to read.  It is pretty dark down here on a New Moon.  Would be nice to look around when something goes bump in the night without lighting up the place like Stalag 13.  Grin

I contacted my friend that is a Marine and he said he used them all the time but the ones they used were in the thousands. He said that they were very good but the batteries and crystals needed to be replaced often and they are expensive. He was not sure what was available for the general public. He did say that one time in battle his team took over a enemy base and their night vision was better then theirs.  Shocked Who is backing the terrorist?  Angry

Sorry Ray but those are thermal not night vision. I would never pay 25,000 for that. At the most $10,000 but Jack has the money to send on stuff like that. LOL

What you wanna do is look just to the side of whatever you're trying to see in the dark.  Your rods and cones are a little more sensitive just to either side of where the optic nerve enters the back of the eyeball.  Any light coming off the object will be amplified in this area therefore making it just a little easier to see whatever it is you are tying to see.  I've used this trick many times times.  It definitely works.    laugh Grin

Jack you should have tooken it to the lady's room and turned off the lights. Then start swinging your arms around and start saying I didn't see you there. LOL If they say it ok then your good to go. If they start yelling at you return them and say they do not work as well as you would like.  laugh laugh Roll Eyes

Some more reading/research that you can do via the following link. As someone else mentioned this is definitely something where you get what you pay for.  Hope it helps you out.
