Since it was brought to my attention that the original web page no longer exists by "Tugcapt", I have worked on updating to a more reliable web site. As a matter of fact, there are now two different sites that can be accessed.

For those that only have the capability of looking at pictures, and I think that everyone on here has an idea who falls within that category Grin, without mentioning any names of course laugh, there is this site;

                                                         www.thecallinectesfamily.webs.com

     And for those that have already signed on and joined this site, I do not believe that you necessarily fall into that particular category, as there was not an alternative site available at that time.

The second site is far more complex with a more in depth coverage of each species mentioned. It has multiple pages for all of the species covered. Navigation is accomplished via the menu on the left side of the page. I am hoping that I've worked out all of the bugs within the site and would welcome any comment, both pro or con, on the finished product.

                                                             www.do-you-crab.com

Depending on the approval, disapproval, and comments of the latter site, I would like to offer it to Steve, or any of the moderators, to be made a permanent feature or sticky on this great network and family of crabbers.

Peace and love.........peace and love....!!

mdjohn, the purpose of my post was not to just have illustrations of "marine critters as you suggest, but to update a post of Jan 31, 2009 in which I slapped together some information of the Callinectes  Family. At that time there seemed to be some interest in that information by some of the subsequent replies that were posted at that time. The feedback at that time made it seem that my efforts were appreciated by some as means of reference.

When brought to my attention by tugcapt that the site that it was posted on had expired, I thought that it was time to expand on the information, especially on the Callinectes Sapidus (known as the 'blue crab' by most) with more information pertaining to it and other members within this family. In doing this, I found out some things that were new to me and quite interesting and thought that others would also find some things interesting that they may not of known before and would give some sort of feedback.

But, apparently after a weeks time and more than 100 views, with no comments either pro or con, or as a matter of fact, no comments at all, it seems that all of this was already common knowledge by everyone and my update was unnecessary.

Maybe at some point a newbe will come across it and learn a few things to help him with his crabbing experience so that my efforts will not be in complete vain. To everyone else, please don't interpret this as a negative post on my part, only that I thought that it was something that would be useful to all.

Another thing I'm working on is RD's dance. As it has been shown on numerous occasions to be so effective, I figure that there must also be a dance to encourage an early spring. I am devoting all of my off time to try and solve this so that we can all get out there and fill our brown baskets (yea, I guess the orange ones also) full of 6" plus mumbos.

Again, as Ringo says..........Peace and Love......................Peace and Love
