Went crabbing on  the Hudson today 9-11-11 down by Peekskill. There was nothing at all going on, no crabs at all. The river is a mess floating trees, logs and other storm debris. A real mess. Dont bother going for at least another week. A total waste of time.

Have not caught one crab this year. Was hoping for a good September but Irene changed all of that. Let's hope next year is better.

yeah, huge disapointment this year. Still hoping late september can maybe bring in a few more dozen. If not, maybe some big channel cats. haha.

Glad to have been able to chat throughout the "season" with everyone as well.

Hey All! I would like to thank you New Yorkers for your posts. I am not one of you but you have expanded my horizons on crabbing. Before reading the New York postings I had no idea crabs where there. I only thougt is was crime and dead bodies floating around.

I just wish some of us could gather sometime down this way and do some crabbing in Maryland - keep it in mind for next year as I am suspecting an early shut down here also - time will tell if I am right.

Glad to have seen and read your postings guys................. Looking forward to next years.

The Last Waltz  Tuesday, September 20, 4-6:30 pm
Fleishmanns Pier, Peekskill   5 traps, yellow perch and sunnies.
Water was less like a chocolate milk shake and more like Yoo-Hoo.
Still lots of flotsam, lost one trap.
2 nice 6" males and a 5" female. That's all, no shorts.
My traps are stowed and I may use the rest of my frozen yellow
perch for blues down at Norwalk. Then bowhunting.
Can't wait for next July.....Take care fellas.
