So i usually dont go crabbing around here until around mid may....(portsmouth va)...And even when i do i usually dont start catching much until around early june but out of curiousity i went out wayyyyyyy early as in yesterday and to my surprise i threw in 5 toppless traps and pulled out 30 small crabs in an hour.Nothing big enough to keep but i have never seen that many this early..its gonna be a good year! So good luck to all you crabbers out there! ill keep ya posted! Smiley

Yeah im crabbing around the old train trussel. it is an awesome spot i skip all the nonsence on the actual trussel and take my kayak out with 8 topless traps usually with a bucket in between my legs to put the crabs in...takes a little practice but i kill all the crabs that way when there here and plentiful! va does have crabs just gotta know where to look!
