GOING TO TRY DRUMSTICKS FIRST, 40 BUCKS A 40 LB CASE, NEED ROUGHLY 160 BAITS
WILL SEE HOW WELL THIS WORKS, MAY BIVE THE CLAM BAGS A RUN TOO , HAVING A HAED TIME FINDING RAZOR CLAMS HERE

Russ I wouldn't try drumsticks, they won't glide over the propstick and will be shaking the heck out of the line. They'll be hard to deploy too, the smaller the bait will be easier to work with all around

Russ

I used to use a mud flap and for the most part it work well.  Then I went to a bigger roller (5" diameter) and got rid of the flap.  Works great.  Its an old cable reel with a 5" aluminum tube with some 1" galv pipe.  I have used it for 5 years now.

If you have one of the good ones with the plastic center instead of the cardboard center, I used that one for about 2 years at least 4 times a week before it wore out.  That would last you forever at once a week without any modifications..

WELL I HAVE A LOT TO LEARN, HAD A PROBLEM KEEPING THE LINE TIGHT , NOT ENOUGH WEIGHT
I WOULD GUESS, I TIED THE BOAT ANCHOR IN ONE END, AND HAD THE 2 CONCRETE ANCHORS ON THE OTHER THAT SEEMED TO WORK
SNAPPING TURTTLES TORE UP QUITE A FEW SNOODS
FLAPPER DID NOT WORK AT ALL HAD TO REMOVE IT
IM CRABBING IN BRACKISH WATER ITS REAL HARD TO  SEE THE LINE MORE THAN 3 FEET DOWN
SO WHAT I LEARNED TODAY IS I NEED BIGGER ANCHORS (GOOD CAUSE I LOST ONE)
AND LOTS MORE PRACTICE

Do you know what bottom type you had? I am suspecting it might have been a hard or sandy bottom. A soft mud bottom does not take too much weight to hold em fast. Sometimes in the Bush river I think I am going to sink the ship pulling them out of the mud.
