Does anyone know when the crabbing season starts on Long Island? Also, what is the size of the keepers? Thanks!

just look around on the NY DEC site. http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/7894.html

You can legally crab year round in NY, and the size limit is 4.5" for hardshells and 3.5" for softies. 50 per day per person.

Last year it was hit or miss. I was down by the docks one day last year and a guy had 2 5 gallon buckets that were filled with monsters!! I was down with my daughter one day and caught 17 keepers in about 1.5 hours.

 ::)crabs r big  and move on this year.... they do not live but  three years at best!!!!!!!!!!! last year  100 a nite!!!  thats on hand lines . Commercial trot line this yr. YM...... $$$$$$$$$$$$$ be easy waters ar warm good luck all CRABS.....

CT. is may  First  CT is with NY. Borders are up  to negociation of the border line unsure......
