But the million $ question is what is my share, i don't give a hoot about checken them in as long as the recs do too. JUST SAY NO TO CATCHSHARES.
Each year they will determine what the total allowable catch will be. Then you will get a percentage of that number reduced usually by an additional 25 percent. So say the TAC is 100 bushels and your share would be 10 bushel, it would then be reduced to 7.5 bushels. (numbers used just for example)
So all of you recs who think that the rec portion has only been about 6 percent all of those years, take a guess as to how many dozen you will be able to catch. Want to bet that the percentage will be argued that it is much higher?

That's what I'm counting on Jack.
It's time that people start writing to Secretary Griffin and Tom O'Connell Director of Fisheries to tell EDF to get the he!! out of MD and take their catch shares SCAM with them.

I got a paper logbook today. And I filed electronically last year
There is a new column for the number of non-reporting crew working with you. Also need your vessel registration number on the form. I think that was a requirement last year anyway.

I got logbook in the mail on Tuesday and I filed my reports online last year too. The number of crew and vessel number were part of the online reporting format last year but I don't think it was required on the paper forms. My guess is that DNR is trying to make the online and paper forms consistent. After I received my logbook, I tried to contact Tim Sartwell to verify that I was still enrolled in the online program but never received a call back. After seeing Reds post, I know why I didn't hear back from Tim.

Yeah Tom, it leaves me with the question of, if I submit in paper, and not online, will they still expect an online report? But with Tim gone, we may never get a straight on that.
I didn't mind the online system, but I'm going back to paper this year. Seems much easier to me.

I preferred the online reporting but the letter that accompanies the paper logbook states that Maryland is
pursuing
online reporting. Considering that Tim is no longer working the program for the DNR and no one seems to be returning phone calls, I'm starting to have my doubts.......

I just got my logbook yesterday. I tried the electronic report last year for April and thought it was simpler to use the paper form, so I switched back to paper for the rest of the year. Besides, I still have some pre-paid envelopes
and I send both my crab and finfish reports in the same envelope.

Folks I keep telling you that the PLAN is set! All of the meetings with the PANEL is just semantics to say that they gave us the opportunity. Catch Shares, Alternative Fisheries Management, IFQs, LAPs etc... They had their Agenda set a long time ago with EDF partnered with MRAG (do some research on them).

I thought I was told you had to send each report in a serperate envelope. Of course, you can't get a straight answer.
I got a big stack of pre-paid envelopes left...

I called DNR last year and asked, the girl (Diane Samuels, I believe) said it was fine to use the prepaid envelopes as long as I had them and since both reports go to the same office I could put them both in the same envelope. I did it all of last year without any problems.

I send 3 different reports in one envelope. Of course it's return receipt, so I know they get them.

Last year the postmark on my logbook was April 12. Don't panic, you don't have to file until the end of the month.

I got mine on Saturday even though I did electronic reporting last year. If you have left over blank reports from previous years, use them if the book doesn't show up in time for the end of the month.
