Hello I'm new user but have been reading here for sometime, I've found alot of interesting concepts and advice, I find it very helpful.  Anyways, I'm from Northern Chesapeake Bay area and have a great time crabbing with average luck. I'm interested in learning more about blue crab habitat and migration to enhance the fun of crabbing. Thanks for any advice you have to offer or resources.

There is a great book by William Warner called "beautiful swimmers"
and it explains all of your questions and more. Once you pick it up
you will not be able to put it down. This is a pulitzer prize winning
book from 1976.

Welcome, Eagle.

You can find all sorts of tips here on the forums under Hard Crabbing Know How and info about your specific region in the MD regional crabbing section.    Ask plenty of questions and people are happy to answer!

READ THIS BOOK!!!.  I have read it 3 times during the winter months and I learn something new every time.  Also, good waterman books like Barcat Skipper and Smith Island: A Memoir of an Island out of time are both excellent books that help you relate to the commercial crabbers and their histories.

Welcome to the board and look forward to hearing our reports.
