My name is Pete. I'm a very young 60 years old. I live in the Elliott city area. I've been a member for a couple of years and this is my 1st post. I'm a rec crabber who only takes what I need for a family meal. I usually crab the creeks and rivers of the eastern shore. I normally don't go out crabbing until fathers day weekend- but reading about all of the successes I'm about ready to go NOW!!!. I like the water temp to be in the mid to upper 60's. And I'm always looking to learn to be a better crabber and would like to hear any info about increasing my success in the basket. Any info about tides, water depth, and phases of the moon would be appreciated. In my crabbing arsenal I have a 1000 ft. trot line with 6" snoods about 6' apart and 30 traps: 15 topless and 15 homemade "sweetie petie" modified 4 sided box traps. My rig is a J-16 Carolina skiff that I've rigged just for crabbing. Soooo- lets bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
