Hello my name is Tracy I'm in the okaloosa county area of Florida , northwest panhandle Florida, and I have alot of local crabbing questions. was hoping to find someone who crabs locally to ask. I've lived here all my life and dream of making a living on the water somehow, even if it's not alot of money , i value a job I'll love over a job  I hate any day. Just wondering  is there a season for blue crab here or is it year round? Do you have to have a commercial license to sell blue crab to fish markets? What type of license do you need to [curd] for a living? what type of crab traps/pots are allowed? What baits work best? Is there a local fish market that gives fish guts, scraps etc. to crabbers, or sells it at low cost? How much do you sell crab to the markets for, like how much is a five gallon bucket of blue crab worth? Do you have to bring live crabs to the fish markets or do you ice them down first ? Anyway as you can see I have tons of questions. Thanks for any answers and if anyone knows a place i can go locally to ask someone questions that would be great.

Welcome to the BCA.    Check out the Southeast regional crabbing forum for info about your area.
