Taurus good luck, you should be able too.  I wish I wasn't going back, but next year I should be home for good.  Well at least back in the northeast.  If that's the case maybe we could get together Bogman, yourself and me and give it a shot at crabbing. But as life goes I might stay in. Who knows next summer will be nine years in for me but right now I plan on getting out. Good luck this weekend I'll be talking to you guys.

Hello all... I was surfing the net for places to crab in CT and came upon this site and your discussions.  My brothers have gone crabbing for 25+ years now, down in NJ.  My boys and I are up here in Groton, CT where my husband is currently stationed.  My brothers want to take my boys crabbing but we are unable to get back to NJ.  They were willing to come up here but where lost as to where to go?  Huh Any help?Huh?  They use to rent a boat with traps if that is any help.  Thanks in advance and best of luck to y'all!

Jaam, I don't know if I can help at all; I'm from the Norwalk area. I hear they are getting some crabs east of New Haven (your area). Just go to the water and ask some locals or a bait / fishing store. Check for a local creek coming down to the sound for crabs and you will probably see them.  Good luck!

I'm in southern california by palms springs.  I looked up grunions, very intresting. I just might have to go out for them one night. I have never heard of them before but as long as they taste good I'm up for it. Thanks for the heads up CrabstaDude. Good luck crabbing!

I can't wait for summer either. Where do you go crabbing in CT? We caught some in the Thames last summer.

I crab in the Norwalk area exclusively unless I run down to MD or FL. Go back through old CT posts and you will see that we crab all along the coast; wherever you can find them!
Welcome aboard; there's some great info to be found here! Smiley

Hey all, I am kinda new to the forum. I am from the South Eastern section of CT (East Lyme). I love crabbing!  Tongue

I see that a few of you are from my area. Anyone wanna join me? or have me tag along? I never done boating for crabs, I have always been a land dweller. I am 22 and working at joining the State Police. So I am in shape and ready to crab!

If you wanna join up just drop me an email or another post or prvt msg and that would be great! Email: Driveway@myeastern.com

Thanks alot! And I hope to get to know a few of you! Happy Hunting! - David

Check out  ctfisherman.com and go to the crabbing board. You might find some folks from your area there. They are already getting crabs in your area. Check out the pilings where you can just net them off. Best time to go is first thing in the morning (first light). Let me know what you see!
They will not be in my area for a while longer!

Update: Crabs are starting to show up in Norwalk area! Smiley Grin

Good luck and have fun!
