bringing my family down to new jersey brigantine area, in mid october, would love to do some crabbing while we are there, got our one and only taste of it in virgina beach last year but family loved it. looking for a company to rent equipment and send us to some good piers or bridges. any help would be appreciated.

OCT , might be a little late to catch crabs in NJ , depends on what the water temps are at that time.  Wink

Early to mid October  should still be pretty good, depends on how the weather goes as Tattoo said.  I'd have alternate dinner plans just in case.  Keep an eye on the site here for the reports on where they're getting them. I did pretty good on my last trip of the year on 10/17   http://www.bluecrab.info/forum/index.php/topic,44438.0.html no too far from there but, I was crabbing by boat.  I don't know of any places that rent gear but, hand lines are pretty inexpensive as are ring traps.  Good Luck!
