Anyone ever use mono for rigging their traps? I have 20 of Capt. Bruce's topless traps and they have only been used a couple of times, but several of the small diameter lines that tie directly to the trap have broken.  I was thinking of using a heavy mono leader material and crimps but would like to hear from anyone that may have tried this.

Masons works like Tattoo said, however so will the monoline. Some say that it dry rots or breaks down but I have never seen this. The best kind we have used is a 9 strand twine coated with wax made by service thread co.. Its incredibly tough and weather resistant.
