looking for some friendly advice on were to crab and fish I'm taking my family to cherrystone camping and bringing my boat and would like to take my eight year old out one or two days ill be going the week of july 23-30 also can you keep clams this time of year in va

First time to Cherrystone?  I've never been there but I know a couple members have crabbed there.  Since you have a boat, I don't think you will have any trouble finding crabs and Atlantic Croaker in that area.  Most of the crabs will be sooks.
