Hey Folks,
My name is JJ, and I live in Northern Virginia suburbs just a few miles west of Washington DC. I used to crab  as a youngster when we visited friends down on the Patuxent river near the lighthouse. I thought my friend's dad called it Pt. Lookout, but not sure.
We used to take a small flat bottom boat along the small waterways that emptied out into the Bay across from Solomon's Island (?); its been 35 yrs ago so my recall is a bit vague. I remember how much I enjoyed trying to catch them in the long pole-nets, and I learned how to pick a crab way back then, and have been hooked on them ever since. My Dad used to love the "mustard", but I don't know if its safe to eat that part anymore.  A fishing and hunting buddy of mine built some crab-pots last fall (we were too , and we are going to try the line method as well in his small boat, but we don't really know where to start looking around this area (fairfax, woodbridge, etc.). Anybody had any luck down near Occoquan area?  I am new to trying to catch them using the long lines and crab pots, but look forward to trying. Thanks for the forum.
