HOW TO STORE AND CLEAN TRAPS

THIS MAY SOUND SILLY ,BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO STORE YOUR TRAPS,CLEAN THEM SO THEY DON'T RUST AND SMELL WHILE THEY ARE NOT BEING USED?

The same as any other gear used in salt water you need to rinse them off throughly with a hose as soon as possible and let them dry before putting away. A light spray with WD-40 will help slow the rust down.

GREAT THANK YOU. I HAVE BEEN CLEANING THEM WITH THE HOSE LETTING DRY, BUT THE SMELL CAN GET BAD. I WILL TRY THE WD-40 TO SLOW THE RUSTING DOWN.

For the smell, did I mention you need to remove the bait?
Seriously though, are you using the cotton ring traps? The only way to get the smell off of them is to dip them in a bleach and water solution after rinsing. Even that's not perfect but it does help.

LOL. Look on the bleach bottle label, a tablespoon or two per gallon of water is a great disinfectant.
