How much are you paying now for #4? I may be able to match the price and hook you up with the #5

#5 may be a little easier on the hands. From my exp. the thicker the line the less likely it will tangle. Tried the 1/4" softlay and really like it.

i let it run over my hands when i put it out (helps get out tangles when you let it run over your hands),then when you pull it in #5 is a little thicker and it wont cut your hands

Put the line in a trash can so it picks it up first before it goes out.  That way you don't have to "use your hand" and you can set it out fast.

I use a 32 gallon can.  I'm running #7-#9 line (old eel pot line).  Shocked  2000' fills the can perfectly to the top with clam bags but i can get 4000' in one can with necks.  As I said in another thread, the only tangle i get is when one bait wraps around another.  And even that is extremely rare, and I usually set going about 10 kts.

I didn't know you could catch moose with a trotline, I always thought you had to shoot them.  And I guess the net would have to be really big, huh?   laugh laugh laugh
