I've seen references to them here, and could use some more info on them.

When you build the pot close up all sides of the box. Then make a flap to dump the crabs from. But instead of putting the dump flap on top like most pots have, run it down the side so that the flap spans both sides of the steeple. That way you don't have to turn the pot upside down and shake your brains out to get the crabs from the bottom to the top. Saves a lot of time and aggravation.

AC, That's what I was thinking of for a shallow water pot, the divider issue has been resolved.  Smiley

Kranieum, that's sounds like a good idea for the standard pot, I'll make a few to see the difference.

The way the baffle is designed, shake them out instead of down and out.

Easier to handle also being smaller
