Does anyone see the sense of spending the 100 bucks for the motorized boat at the red bank marina, or would the rowboat work out just fine? I ask because i am not mr rich guy, and if I am only going to be on the water for half the day I am wondering if it would be worth it.
if I row under the hubbards bridge, has the crabbing been good in that area? or would i have to row to the rail bridge? So many good reports I am getting super psyched up, but dont want to spend the extra money if I don't have to.

I've always used a rowboat out of RBM. I typically row with the tide, it makes it a good bit easier. I also stick to the edge of the channel as the water is typically always moving to some degree in relation to the channel, except at dead low, or dead high of course, but even then the channel edge seems to hold crabs even through the "dead" periods. It was slow yesterday, but the crabs where there, just needed to be patient. We kept 50, but we had plenty of action with shorts, and females, all of which were released....so it wasn't boring, and the kids should be fine. Heck I don't think I rowed much more then 300yds all day. Also remember if you want to move you don't need to move a great distance. Work with the tide move a short distance along the channel edge, and anchor up. The boats are supplied with 2 anchors, one up in the bow and a second at the stern, they'll keep you in place nicely. I crabbed the area you're considering yesterday, never moved once. IMO you don't need the motor. But as with anything in life, YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary. ;)Have a great day on the water!
