Patchogue's Mascot Dock, where I have been crabbing for my entire life of 42 years was damaged during Hurricane Irene and it is said it will take about a million dollars to repair. I am happy to say I toughed it out the morning of the hurricane and was able to get a few snappers, no crabs though, so I am proud to be the last person to crab there before it was destroyed which is fitting to me because I crabbed there so long. Word is it will not be repaired this year so I guess I have to start searching or going to a few other small places I know. It just really stinks that I will miss my favorite dock this year. Good luck to everyone this coming year and I really hope those [dang] blowfish from last year leave my chicken alone!!!

Sorry about your spot getting trashed.  Cry

And I hear ya on the blowfish, sadly I've already heard rumors they're out and about already. Cry  Cry  Cry

I too was able to grab a meal from the pier at Captree during Irene. So at least I know I'm not the only one nutz enough to try to fish/crab in a hurricane.
