Took my daughter Gianna for her first ever fishing/crabbing trip on a boat.  We have fished and crabbed from shore before, but this was a first.

Got to RBM at 5:55am.  I knew on the weekends they got busy, but I figured getting there at this time I should be first or second in line.  WRONG!  15 people ahead of me.  Instead of opening up at 7am, he opened up at 6:30.  After much waiting, got my boat at about 7am and started rowing like a mad man.  My usual spot was swamped so I tried another honey hole of mine.  From the minute the drop lines hit the river floor, it was game on.  Moved three times, finished with 102 crabs.  Kept everything over 5 inches.  My daughter was a natural.  She lasted until 11:15am, then wanted to leave so we got outta there.  Gorgeous in the morning, warm in the late morning.

TONS of swimming crabs everywhere.  Must have got a dozen that just happened to be cruising past the boat.  Every boat was sold out and judging by the people I talked to, everyone did well.  Steamed up the crabs.  Time to get Wu Tang Clan drunk!

Drop lines and chicken necks were key.   I honestly think you could have used anything to be honest

That was a great catch. Your post reminded me of when my late dad took me crabbing for the first time.

Reminded me of when my dad and uncles took me to Dicks Landing back in the day.  I miss those days.  However, I wouldnt have traded today for anything.

Nice catch. I saw you out there that day. We only ended up with 66 tho. Nice size, heavy and rusty most of em so I'm not complaining.
