went crabbing for the first time at the front st bridge in red bank

used a bunch of hand lines and 2 open top traps

had to lower the open top trap to pick up the crabs on the hand lines so they wouldnt drop off ont eh way up

where can i get a super long net on a pole to scoop up the crabs?

not sure which net woudl be long enough

You can always rig one up yourself.. Either bolt and tape two together laying side by side or get another pole that will slide over or inside yours then screw them together..

When I was a kid me and my dad used to go to this pier in jersey city.. It was called the mile pear.. Yep it was a mile long.. The pier was high though, i'd say a good 15 ft to the water.. We'd walk up and down the just scooping of the pilings.. Can't recall how we had the scoop nets rigged but pretty sure they were duct taped and bolted together.. Worked great
