Started about 5 pm left around 7:30 pm...skunked! Nothing, not one, a few blowfish that was it...it was super rough and windy, stirred up the bay real good, and more to come with Irene on it's way...i'll try again next week...

I have been crabbing Patchogue for 35 years, I have never seen the crabbing just turn off the way it has. There has been years that were bad all the way through but it was very good a month ago but the last 3 or 4 weeks it has been dead. The blowfish are mostly to blame I think.

Blowfish will do it. (So Iv'e been told. )How about another spot nearby.

I actually went back to Patchogue to fish for snappers today but I did bring the net just in case and I managed 5 nice keepers. I have tried Blue Point and the blowfish were everywhere.
