Took the daughter and her friend crabbing with 4 open-topped traps and 2 pots.  Caught a lot of crabs over the long weekend but had to release at least 300+ small ones.  Boat was pulled earlier in the week due to Irene and deeper water was not available to us this time.  Had to make do crabbing off the pier.

The girls had a great time anyway.  We managed to catch enough crabs for a couple of meals and they didn't have to pick too much!  They were only disappointed that they couldn't catch their sea turtle from Memorial Day weekend. Smiley

BTW:  Irene was not as bad to us as she could've been (we are only across the bay from the tornado).  Slight water damage and some clean up of marsh grass around the trailer.  Hope everyone else faired as well as we had and kept safe!

Where were you in the bay ? We got over a half bushel down by Tunnels house if you know where that is.I'd be more than happy to share the location with you, there doesn't seem to be too many Rehoboth bay crabbers

We were crabbing off of the pier at West Bay this weekend.  When we have a boat, we crab around Marsh Island or the point just north of the church camp.  Tunnel's house doesn't ring a bell but I might have been there already.  Any info or advise would be appreciated!
