Do you think there is a difference between vinyl coated and galvanized traps and catch rates?  I know the vinyl coated will last longer but I have found that my galvanized traps outcatch the vinyl traps every time out. In addition the vinyl coated traps are much heavier to pull up all day. I was wondering if anyone else noticed this phenomenom.

I use a heavy 6 door trap from Eagle Claw. They last and take a beating.  Putting a traditional galvanized trap out with these several times a few differences are noticed. They ARE heavier, it takes an extra minute to remove and rebait the trap. The traditional trap gets a lot more undersized crabs and no more keepers. The EC traps fold and are popped into position in a few seconds for transport which is not possible with the galvanized wire. Generally, my traps are only pulled twice a season.

Foxy Mate stackables just the regular galvanized are the best, easy to set, easy to move, easy to pick up, and they don't take up alot of room on the boat.IMO. I love em'.
