As some of you know, my Grandson plays football for Bloomsburg University in PA. They had the worst flooding in history from the Susquehanna River. The town of Bloomsburg was 25% flooded. Search You Tube for Bloomsburg flooding. The campus is up high enough and wasn't affected by flooding, however the campus was closed for over a week and did not have water during that period. It reopens tomorrow and they turned the water back on. The only ones remaining on campus during this disaster were the athletes. Every day the athletes boarded buses to help the families clean up their homes, even though they still had practices every day. I praise all these young men and women for helping out these families in such a hard time. The Bloomsburg Fair, which is one of the biggest fairs on the East Coast - scheduled to start in two weeks - is canceled for the first time ever due to the severe damage in the area. My prayers go out to all the people in the town of Bloomsburg, PA. Through all of these hard times, the Football Team after Thursday nights win on National TV are 3-0 and ranked 8th in the nation in Division II football. They practiced in dirty uniforms and jumped in the university pool for their showers. After all the hard work of helping people that so needed help, shows the character of these fine athletes!

The fairgrounds had 5 foot of water running through it.

I heard it was bad. We have a group that gos up every year for the 4wheel truck jamboree the week end after the 4th. Best fireworks I've ever seen each year. We were gonna go to the fair for the first time this year. Very nice place and neat little town.

It really restores your faith in humanity to see those kids helping. Good for them!

There were a lot of places flooded a lot worse than Bloomsburg. The fair isn't anyones home, it may be an income for or extra money for some people, but it wasn't their homes. Next year the fair will go on like nothing happened, next year people will still be trying to get their lives back together after their homes were destroyed. Lets not lose perspective of the devestation that happened.

That's really cool how the athletes helped people clean up their homes Tom.  That's a good story.  It should be on tv one day.

I don't think that anyone has lost perspective of the devastation that happened at Bloomsburg and all throughout the Susquehanna Valley. The video only shows a small portion of the destruction in this small town of Bloomsburg. The video also shows the great character of the athletics of Bloomsburg University and the character of their coaches who boarded buses every day to help families in so much need of help.
