Crabbing @ Martinak State park

I'm planning on taking a crabbing/camping trip 9/22-9/24 and we're staying at the state park. Can anyone tell me what they charge to use the ramp and if the crabbing is any good there. Or should I go further south and try my luck somewhere @ Easton. I never crabbed that area before. All my crabbing has been in the Prospect Bay or Crab Alley and it hasn"t been so great there (3 times) this year 2 bushel the 1st time and 1 bu. each of the next 2. It'll be my last time and I hope we can manage to catch some to put away for the Holidays. Hard to beat them Eastern Shore crabs. Thanks.

The state park ramp is free. Its very nice from what i can remember using years ago. Large parking lot and huge bulkhead. The camping isnt too bad either I stayed there in May but not used the ramp weather wasnt to my liking as far as fishing.
I'm not sure about the crabbing I've never crabbed there I've read that they can be caught that far up the river but if I made it over there to crab I was planning to head down river past Tuckahoe creek before iI dropped any traps or lines. Good luck and hope you have good time.

Thanks for the info. I had my doubts about whether the crabs would be that far up river ,especially with all the recent rain.Since the ramps' free I may try a little fishing and put out a couple traps for the fun of it.

Not sure what sixe boat you have but I don't think its that far of a run to tuckahoe. Take a look at google maps if your bored it might be something to try and just take a nice boat ride. Drop some handlines at the ramp they might be up that way you never know.
