Dividing Creek weekend of Oct 1st still red hot

On the water before first light to a fast dropping tide that is already halfway out. Water was extremely swift all the way through the out going. Lot of debris and decayed organic plant matter and leaves, reeds etc. Anyway anchored dead center channel in about 10-12 ft , set up 3 traps w bunker and 3 or 4 handlines w turkey necks. First pull around in the dark was good and in a few mins had 7 monsters in the boat. I though this was gonna be off to a good one. Slowed down fast though as the sun rose and I picked at em for a couple hours , had to work at em but all really nice size and heavy. Well once it slacked completely dead low, I moved over a few yards to about 4-6 ft of water, as I like to be situated shallower as the tide comes in. I immediately had action and it was a non-stop blitz for an hour and a half w lots of keeper doubles. I didnt have time to sit because I was culling crabs that were scattered running around the boat. Around 9:30 it slowed down a tad bit but still picked at em steady . Wound up w well over 3/4 bushel that was 90% huge #1 size or better jimmies w a few huge sooks and smaller keeper males mixed in. I also had well over a dozen keepers drop off the handlline in plain sight ,due to the swift current as I tried to get them withing net reach. It really sucks to see a giant set of rusty claws drop off free before you can get em close enough to scoop up. All morning long I kept feeling fish bang at my handlines and finally pulled one up slow and a giant eel followed it all the way up to the boat ! Had several other eels slip away out the traps and boated an eel and giant crab at the same time in the same trap . Very nice day , beautiful weather and when the wind picked up , it was blowing the same direction as the incoming tide so the boat sat perfectly w no fouled lines or traps.
BTW, Stumpy says to tell everyone here he will be staying open for 2 more weeks, but only open up on Fri, Sat, and Sun. The following weekend after that he will be closing the place down for his rentals but said he would let private boats still pay to use the ramp if he is there. He also asked me to mention on here to Tattoo that you are running out of time to come give it a shot and see him down there while he is still open for the season lol
