Hit the water early Jason22 and MagnumTRex with 30 traps baited with necks and set up in one of my usual areas, where I was guessing we'd be inland of the "sook line."    Started actual crabbing around 7 am and found steady crabbing, with the first bushel being topped off with jimmies around 9:45 am.     Only two sooks on board at this point, and a bunch of rusty jimmies.

Started on the second bushel and things slowed down considerably.    We moved our gear to a spot further inland, and did so-so, and brought our total to a little under a bushel and a half.   We debated if we would continue crabbing around 11:45 and decided we'd pull the gear, do a drop in another spot I've crabbed a million times with the hopes of filling the second bushel.    BAM, what we thought would be one run ended up being three, as we were pulling in about 20 keepers per pass, even with old bait.

Ended the day with well over two bushels of crabs, only 10 or so being sooks, and had a ball the entire time.   Lots of heavy, rusty crabs.

Lots of photos to follow.

It was a truly great day out on the water. I couldn't have asked for better company or conditions.  We were working the traps like experts. I think Ron said we did one run of 30 traps in 11 minutes.  Thanks again Ron.

Any time, Tom.

Not only did we run those 30 traps in 11 minutes, but we put 20+ into the keeper basket on that run.

Don't forget to send me those photos.

Unbelieveable day!   Nothing but good crabbing and great company.  Weather was perfect and the bite was on.  I have some pics to post later as well.  Second year in a row I closed the season out at Patcong Creek with a monster catch.  Grin
