Put in at the Cupola Park  "septic tank ramp" in Millsboro, DE. One word YUCK. the water was like molasses, stank, and shallow. Remember that word shallow because it was like that all day, shallow channel, and shallow crabbing. Set out with 16 traps baited with cn and 600 ft trotline baited with cn and tripe (steer gut). Laid them in about 3-6 ft of water just above the power plant, and hold on. crabs galore. pulling up traps with 3 legal crabs in them at a crack consistently for 2 1/2 hrs. had the most fun in a long time on the trotline pulling up 18-30 a run with 3/4 of them being keepers. the crabs weren't like Wye river crabs but we had probably 2 dozen 6 1/2 inch crabs. Finshed off with a packed bushel of 75 crabs in 2 hours. just a fun time all around except for the ride in on low tide digging mud in a foot and half deep channel, why even bother to use markers right?

Nice catch.

As I mentioned when you first posted this report in the Honey Holes section (check your BoardMail, by the way) the markers are there because it's the only passable water during dead low.   Everything else is an inch or two above mud.

Thanks Ronster,  it was a new learning experience for me, they had dredging signs up and a dredging boat with guys standing around on it the other day but I saw no work being done, so who knows, the only place I really had trouble was the last 3 or 4 markers coming in the little canal by all the houses.

Things move slowly in that part of DE.   I've watched a sewer improvement project get about a mile of pipe laid since it started three years ago...

Chevy,   next time just take the extra 8 min car ride and launch at Gull point. It is a really nice ramp and easy in and out. Never have to worry about going that far up river and dealing with the shallows, and its closer to the PP.

Agreed.   It's a much nicer ramp and less of a travel to get to where the crabs are.
