I don't know first hand but I can say that the guy I bought my bait from on Sunday claims he crushed them on Saturday and all were big and dirty.  I would guess he was near the mouth of the river but like I said, it's second hand info.

Went out on Saturday 9-9. Caught 3 crabs tried everywhere and everything from 4 ft to 11 ft. Got back to the dock and saw another guy with 5 crabs. If you want crabs you have to head south.
