What diam pipe are you using for ~4x8 shedding tanks? Are most of you using floor drains as bulkhead fittings or using dedicated bulkhead fittings? SLip on or threaded?

I know lots of questions, just seeing whats everyone using.

I think it would depend on the type of system your running..A closed system has to be pretty much leak proof, I run an open system and you can use about anything,and many are very simple,cheap and easy...

if you run an open system this drain rig works good, makes it easy to adjust water levels..just cut a piece of 1 1/4" pvc about 2 inches long,use a hole saw to cut about a 1 1/2" hole then drive the pvc into the hole, then get  some 1" plastic flex tubing to fit into the PVC ring,it will slide to any water depth you like..My Father InLaw came up with that idea 30 years ago..Looks primitive but works really nice..Put 2 per shed box..

After I started shedding crabs I just couldn't figure out what was going on.  There would be empty sheds in the tank but no soft crabs.  For awhile I just caulked it up to a green peeler eating the soft crab. Then one morning I caught the Heron having his breakfast.  I have pot wire over the tanks now.   Wink

Same here, but I put wire around them...The big buggers need room to take off and land!  They would have to land like a Harrier to get in.
