I GOT A CASE OF THE CRABS!

Ignore
« on: October 15, 2011, 09:57:15 PM »

Took my boys 4 and 11 for a guys day out. Got there about 8:40am and left 7pm. Only caught about 20 keepers (jimmies). Threw a lot back cause to small and didn't keep any females. We had alot of fun and didn't want to throw in the towel but like the say a bad day on the water beats a good day at work. Hopefully I can get in another trip before we hang it up for the season.

20 keepers is enough for a meal.    Good going.    I'm sure the kids loved it.

20??  Everything is relative.  I have gone out four times this year and my total number of keepers has yet to hit 20!

I plan on hitting Barnegat Bay (Toms River and/or Dillon's Creek) one more time this season and with any luck my season haul may exceed 20.

It's good to see the youngsters getting into crabbing.  Some of my best family memories involve crabbing on the Barnegat Bay with my grandfather and uncles in a wooden rowboat that always seemed to have an escaped crab or two lurking under the seats.
