Hit the Navesink at sunrise on Sunday with 8 drop lines and chicken.  The wind kicked up around 10 am and made crabbing difficult.  Finished up with a little over four dozen.

It was nice of that crab to help me with the tongs... so I invited him home for a dip in the Ol' Bay Jacuzzi

Correct... N/E of Oceanic by Clay Creek... winds were from the west so I tried to seek shelter in that area... unfortunately that pushed me closer to the wall where it was not very productive.  It was a good thing that I got an early start or it would have been nothing but wind frustration and tangled lines!

Ah.  The Dawn Patrol.  Smiley)

Didn't get an SST reading to see how cold it's gotten.  Did you?  My last year logs(10/22/2010) listed it at about 55 degrees.

However I did notice a drastic improvement in the water clarity from my prior trip one week earlier. Everything is getting back to normal quicker than I expected post Irene.

Great.

Water clarity also goes up as the water gets colder too.  That's a concern.  At SST's 60 and downwards they shut down for year.  Sad((
