It was a bad day out there for me. I had a lot of things not going my way. It all lead up to me losing an anchor...after just two runs of my line. I learned a lot, but I am still baffled at my knot failure. I've been fishing for years, and can't remember the last time I've have a knot fail. Ok...yeah I can...but it was a long time ago (I have a good memory) lol. Anyway...the video is longer than last time (just a warning). I include things you may not be interested in seeing (such as baiting the trotline) because I show this to many people who are not familiar with all that comes along with crabbing. I hope you enjoy... (change to 720p for optimal quality) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL4VoZ44l5w

use a bimini twist knot. Cant come undone. I use this knot for tying my lures on, it should be perfect for anchors too.

Oh I'm definitely not giving up on crabbing. I was FORCED to give up that day because of "anchor-gate" lol. I will be back at it this weekend...probably Saturday AND Sunday. South River & Severn River, respectively.

Spoken like a true crabber.. I may see you on the severn. I'll be sure to slow it down if your there. I will stop and say hi. The lower end of the severn is good right now. I know a perfect spot for what your doing. Send me a personal message and i will tell you the exact spot if interested.

I'm quite sure its not the first airport in the country...but it is the worlds oldest continously operating airport, founded in 1909 by the Wright Brothers. They opened the field to demonstrate their flyer to the military.

I have to hand it to you- any man who puts together a rig like that is one heck of a crabber. I'm sure you'll get them next time. Good luck the rest of the season.

He is "THE MAN" when it comes to Kayak Crabbing Yeah. He has years of experience from running the trotline in his canoe. I think he told me he's been doing it for 6 years from his canoe. I think he just started doing it from the kayak this year. He was out there with me on my first run on the severn. You see that vid?

Stop by your closest auto repair/tire place and get some old brake drums for anchors. Get a few extra. They sit flat and stack nicely. And they're free!
