I decided to try Thompson Creek for the first time today after it was recommended to me ( thanks, you know who you are ). I didnt get on the water until 12:30 due to baby sitting issues. It took me an hour to find the crab but when I did it was well worth it. We ended the day with 30 of the biggest crabs all season. All keepers were over 6 inches and 3 were over 8. we also had a ton of tossbacks. I am going tomorrow morning and hope to find them again and fill the basket this time.

any pics of these 8 inchers? lol another jumbo 8 incher report with no pics(something new on this site...) I am still yet to see a crab over 8 inches from thompson , I'm not puttin you down but sounds unbelievable considering i know that creek inside out and this whole year was rare to even get a 7 incher. I will be out there tomorrow too so if you get any of these 8"+ers bring em over so you can prove me wrong. I hope the cold hasn't shut them down yet(viewing old logs it's coming down to the last few days for sure) and oh yea goodluck

Well, sorry you find it unbelievable but I can read a ruler and I know we had three 8 inchers, every crab we got that was legal was huge. I dont need to impress anyone, I just posted the report of what we caught yesterday. If I get anymore today I will make sure to take a pic to prove it to you.

I don't get it.. He said he cought a couple 8 inch crabs. What's so hard to believe? I could see if he said they were 10+ or if he said he cought 6 nine inch crabs.

That's one of the many reasons why I don't post reports anymore.

we were in about 10 feet with the incoming tide. The action was not fast but it was steady. Unlike today, I went back to the same area and dropped in the same depth and we only got 7 crabs in 4 hours. All were 6-7 inches.

Well I guess you are just the world greatest crabber aint ya?? I know what I caught and these other folks have caught 7-8 inchers in Thompson before so maybe you need to be glad your such a wonderful crabber that you can be an authority on what is in the water and what isn't. You seem to be in the minority on here and just because you have never caight any big crabs in Thompson does not mean others havent. This is my last response to your comments, your rudeness is not worth my time....

i never said i haven't. I don't like when people say they catch 8"+ crabs and the biggest crabs of the season when the people crabbing that water this time of month know it's not true at all(lucky to even get on the keepers when you find a nice hole), hence there will be 50 trailers in the parking lot this week because of false info and they are not going to catch the biggest crabs of the year(just trying to save people gas and toll money that are in search of jumbos because yea I'm a MEMBER on here and tell the truth and it's a very expensive trip)...the past 3 years before this has been many 7 and 8 inchers in thompson you are correct(usually all in the spring). I'm not trying to be rude or put you down I am just stating facts. I had one crab that was 7 1/8 yesterday btw and all the others were average 5 1/4 to 6. maybe you are on a different thompson because I would of saw you out there..there were 3 other crabbers( I talked to all of them) and only 1 from pa and he had much different results than 7 crabs. So if you are interested in some nice 5 1/4 to 6 packed crabs yes you'll find a nice meal on that river right now. It won't last long though, a bunch of the crabs already have mud on their shells and there's a bunch of smalls and females out there as well. sorry guys don't mean to start an argument on here I'll shutup now
