Launched at 9:30 from Rumson and had four handlines baited with chicken legs in by 10:00. Crabbed the second half of the outgoing tide. Finished up at 14:30 with 41 in the box. Sizes were 95% five inches or better including a dozen that went about six to six and a half. I listened closely but did not hear anybody singing yet...  BLUE |

Great looking fall crabs, I wish I could get out for one more trip this season, but I don't have a boat, so it probably would be too difficult to get to any crabs. Can't wait for next season!

Thanks so much for all of the positive feedback, however, I must confess to an ulterior motive for my aggressive Fall campaign. My Dad, who will turn 78 in a few weeks, had a heart attack in late July, and triple bypass about a month later. He started me crabbing before I could walk so you can just image how many trips we have shared throughout the years. He is still like a kid on Christmas Eve and does not sleep a wink the night before every trip. He is on the mend but not strong enough to rejoin the battle yet. He enjoys eating them so much that I am trying extra hard to keep him well stocked during his recovery. Next year I hope to have him back on the water and back in the saddle. BLUE

Well it looks like you did a good job of stocking up then. Sorry to hear about your dad but it's great that he's on his way to recovery. Hope he has a speedy recovery so that you guys can stock up together next season!

Finally gave in and dropped the boat off yesterday for winterizing and shrink wrap. Maybe not really "4everblue"... but I can guarantee at least five solid months of blues  BLUE |
