Zero.  Nada.  Zilch.  Bupkis.  Diddly squat.  sick  I forgot what live crabs even look like.  sad2  They are blue, right?   About yo big with two claws.  Huh

On the other hand, conditions were outstanding on Barnegat Bay especially when you consider it is the second week in November.  The Bay was flat calm; I could have skipped a stone across it's surface.  There was nary a breeze.  The sky was cloudless from horizon to horizon.  The air temperature was flirting with 70.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day.  I love being on the water and this was an excellent day to be on the water.  Grin  I am glad I ventured out.

It wasn't a total loss.  On my way home I stopped at Mudd City Crab Cake Company and picked up four back-fin beauties and a pint of Maryland crab soup.  So at least I can pretend I was a successful crabber.

Thank you to everyone who offered their advice and shared their experiences on this wonderful forum.  Your assistance was greatly appreciated.

Until next year...

Stay well,
Joe

Nice try Joe, that would have been the last spot in the Barnegat bay I would have tried to see if any were left.  At least you gave it a shot.  Til next year.  Wink

Were you in a boat?

No, I roped myself a couple of sea turtles, lashed 'em together and made a raft.

How'd you get the sea turtles to swim where you wanted to go?  Did you dangle  some bait in front of them?   laugh laugh laugh

I used to keep a boat at MAC's in Waretown a long time ago.  Do you know if they are still there?  They moved down from NY.

I am glad you were out there.  It was a picture-perfect day.  If the air/water temps were 10-degrees warmer it would have been a perfect summer day.
