Mine is an 18 footer. I think I have a design that will work, but like anything, I am sure it will need fine tuning once the operation begins.

We had problems with ours Ron,but I think it was partially us ,and the lack of working area,and the boat was too high out of the water.Al (Shedking) took me trotlining to show me how to do it,so hopefully next year I'll be better at it.Good luck to you with yours.

My boat is pretty open on the helm side and there is a door that can be opened there to give more flexibility to reach the water... |

Have to rewire the lights on the jetboat. Saltwater isnt too nice to them. Redesign and build a new propstick. Also pour a bunch of jigheads and spoons for fishing.

Gonna go get a roll of pot wire and build 5 2x2x2 holding pots (no pallor). Don't have any old pots to use this coming season. Was going to get Marshall's to build them but I'm bored. If that works out OK, maybe I'll get a roll of peeler pot wire. I do need 10 new peeler pots.  |

Besides all the regular boat stuff to do I have to replace the shift cable. First step complete, I got the new one. Went to the local Yammy dealer and he told me the Yammy cables are junk. At this point I have to agree.  |

Do you have a winter crabbing project for this year?
Mine is to outfit my pontoon boat with a propstick so I can run trotlines this year.
I would like to see that a pontoon boat running a trotline. Beings I never seen it before! I like pontoon boats very much because of the room on them. I am sure you will get r done it shouldnt be difficult. I found that you can run a trotline just about off of anykind of boat. I take you have a lower platform or something where you would be able to dip the crabs from and not have to reach to far. |

I'd consider starting with a coat of Gluvitz to seal it up. 1 gallon was a little more than I needed for my 16 foot Jon and I tried to put it on liberally especially around the rivets. I used primer on the shiney metal parts. I applied my paint by brush cause a paint gun was not available - even rolled some of it. It's held on pretty good for three seasons now. |

Got a G3 aluminum boat which doesnt have rivets, everything is welded. But appreciate the input and hope I could get three years out of it. I keep it in the water all summer so trying to avoid them barnicles if I can. I will look into that stuff you were refering to. Thanks!

Most bottom paint has copper or other metalic toxins in it to keep off the barnicles but copper has a galvonic reaction with aluminum and it will eat holes in your aluminum bottom. I think I will do it the way you have desribed. I wouldnt be able to catch crabs with holes in my boat. I appreciate the input from you and the other suggestions. Glad I found this site especially because of a hard headed no it all like myself. Thanks Charlie |

clean up my traps, untangle lines etc, make a prop stick finally for the new duck boat..... spool all my fishing rods fresh and salt..... clean all my firearms....
organize tackle bags fo rbass, organize trout vests, patch two sets of waders that got small leaks.....
clean my basement out....... as much as possible so when spring comes I can trout fish, bass fish, rockfish, crab, rockfish, bass fish, duck and goose hunt deer hunt ... lol
Jack yeah my neighbor Mr Bob worked for teleflex for years.... and my brother just replaced his hydraulic lines in his charter boat with teleflex..definitely top of line stuff......
