im in the market for another big boat, i like the evans and markley but does anyone know of another boat builder in maryland that has something a little differnt? i looking for a true deadrise

I don't think an Evans or Markley are a "true deadrise".

Chesapeake Boats in Crisfield, Composite Yachts Rt 50 at the Cambridge Bridge, John Kinnamon right before you get to the Knapps Narrows Bridge, Judge in Denton.

Kinnamon will probably give you the best price and deal for the money, but you get what you pay for.

I've got a 29' Robbins for sale for $20,000 OBO. Serious inquiries only.

Man what kinda crabbin are you doing where the price don't matter?  Get a 46' markley.


And Chesapeake may make a nice looking boat to some, but thats about all thats nice about them.  I heard the builder is as crooked as they come.

Going to be doing a few charter trips with it but not much. The markley is in a class of its own and I'm waiting on a call back about pricing. Not looking to go crazy on the boat just nice with a few custom touches.

Just curious, and its really none of my business, but your profile says you are 17.  How are you going to afford a $100k+ boat and only run "a few charters"?  If I were you, I'd first check to see how many charters I could get because I hear of alot of guys packing it in because of little to no business.  And if your looking for "another" big boat, why not just turn the one you got into a charter boat, be ALOT cheaper in every aspect.  Insurance, marina fee, hauling fee, maintence, etc.

If you want a Markley you would do better financially to pick up a used one. Their prices on a new one are pretty steep.
There are 2 of them at Queen Anne Marina Condo Slips (Kent Island) that can be had reasonable. They were both finished off by Allen in Cambridge. One, "Buc Shot" has been for sale because the owner has had some money problems - not chartered, very rarely used by the owner and his wife. The other one is "Maverick" owned by Chris Rosendale. It's been chartered steady but he got another job and had someone else fishing it for him. He had it for sale earlier this year for $125,000. I really think you're just BS'ing. Grin

A Markley Hull runs in the 50k bracket. No washboards, floor, cabin or running gear.

I doubt a Markley work boat could be built, with everything new, less then in the 3's.

I never understood why a guy would want to own a brand new boat that cost 6 figures, only to have other people beat it up, especially when there are a ton of 40'+ boats for sale in decent shape.  Get a  40' deadrise with a 3208 Caterpillar in it, and it will be all you need.

I was talking about the 36' Judge.  I requested a quote a long time ago for a hull with 4 stringers  and it was 20 or 30k.  

I have been wanting to build my own jig and lay up my own hull, but I don't think there is enough room in the shop.....until spring Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
