I have never set out to try to kill these but when they broke out of a hedgerow about 50 yards away, it only took a split second to determine that they needed to be eliminated from the area. I was sorta suprised when the first one folded with the first shot. I was really suprised when the second one went end over end with the second shot. After the first shot and seeing his brother bite the dirt, the second one found a higher gear...it wasn't quite high enough though...... Grin. I now know that coyotes don't like sluggers......

Thanks! Yes they are well fed, when I was mowing that field, I saw a lot of rabbits. Last week there were two different ones missed when we pushed that piece off. Everybody that saw them said that they were both bigger than these two and one of them was almost pure black.

Maybe for a cheap knock off Winchester hat.....the gun is an old 11-87 from when they were made here in the USA. The ammo was Remington too....

Seems you might have used that 11-87 over the years, what do you think of it - my only experience is on the clays with them, but I have seen many preform flawlessly - I have seen others fail also - most likely not the guns fault.

I have only had the gun a couple years. When I got it, it didn't fire. The previous owner had badly misused it and had NEVER cleaned it. I took a gamble on it for $100. After completely stripping and cleaning it, it has been pretty reliable. Parker has shot it more than I have as I wanted to give him the benefit of the reduced recoil. I just started carrying it this year to deer hunt with. So far so good.....I do like the fact that I seem to be able to recover and acquire the next target more quickly than I could with my old 870 that I have used for 20 some years. I haven't run any 3" shells through it yet but most of what we have shot have been hot 2-3/4" loads(either slugs or duck loads). All in all, I think it was a good investment.....

I have watched many 50 bird and 100 bird shoots go flawlessly - of course the gun was clean upon entry. I have the Sporting Clays model and have fired lots of 1oz loads @ 1200 fps - if it would fail, normally it was my reloads that did it - I shoot a hull until masking tape and candle wax no longer work............. Grin

We started seeing them along Deer Creek (Northern HC) back in the late 80's.  They did a great job on Fox and Feral cats.  But did knock out the rabbits. The first one I saw was running along Harford Creamery Rd. about 3 in the AM.  Did know what it was then.  Knew it was a wolf or a dog.  That weekend there was a pic on the front page of the Aiges of one that a farmer shot.

This aint Montana, guys. Yeah, they eat fox, and cats....but they also kill dogs and eat just about anything they can get into. Aside from killers, they are scavangers and will soon turn its attention away from hard kills like deer to more easier ones, such as your dogs or livestock.

Even regarding deer, they dont take down mature bucks or does, they attack fawns......tearing em apart while they're still alive.......think you can handle watching that in a field while your taking your family to the outlets to do some Christmas shopping?

You'll let your feriouscious chesapeakes out to pee one night, one of em will get cornered by 2 yotes and while one yote has your dogs attention, the other will tear its throat out before you got time to fetch your gun and turn on the back yard light. On top, they wont even eat your dog, just kill it because they're good at it.

nice day !!!! Shocked sometimes its nice to have something different happen in deer season...I wish i would see one Im tired of seeing...shooting...and butchering deer( got to be like work)lol...  Only seen 1 ever in deer season and for a stupid reason I wasnt carrying a gun.  lol

The larger of the two was 47 lbs. Didn't weigh the other one. They were both young of the year by looking at their teeth. From what the guys that saw the two last week say, these are one about half as big as one of the two they saw then.

We have seen less foxes this year.......don't know if there is a direct connection there or not??
