Thats funny. I have my car trailer, and my horse trailer tagged with a Maine tag and I live in Pa. Yes I am legal. But do I look for "lope holes" to save money, time, and B.S. on titling, tags and insurance you bet
Can you share the process with the good people here ??

Two boat trailers, two utility trailers, five year tags for just a little more (and I mean, just a little more) than the same trailers in Maryland for just ONE YEAR.
Simple process

I don't know all the laws or even the new ones if any, and nothing about Maryland. I have been titling my "heavy" trailers with Maine tags in Pa for about 10-15 years and know about 10 people that do the same(construction, and big rig). I don't tag my smaller trailers(boat) with Maine yet because its cheaper to tag them Pa($6 a year no inspection). But My heavy trailers I tag with Maine 5 years for $90. I had a race car trailer a long time ago with no title and a friend told me to get Maine tags. You didn't need a title just a bill of sale, sent $90 got tags and used for many years. If I would have gone through Pa I would have spent at least $500 fees(dmv, titling, inspection, registration). I have got pulled over a couple times with lights out and got a warning to fix the light that was out. So am I leagal I'm going to say yes. If I'm not I will pay the fine cause unless its $1000s of dollers I have saved that already. I'm no expert and If anybody knows something I don't know please share.

Technically it's not legal in Maryland for boat trailers, utility trailers, etc. It's for commercial trailers in intrastate service. But as long as you can get away with it, it's legal, right?
