A commercial 12 volt one (heavy duty) can be bought at Kastel Bros in St Michaels, MD. Also Western Auto sells them on Kent Island.

Look to pay around $1600.

I'm in the process of building one and I'll have around $1200 in one, just in parts.

While that winder is great for pulling pots, it needs to be modified for a trot line with snoods.

A trot line coming up off of mud will make a mess of everything with out sides, a top  And a stand.

Kastel and Western Auto sells the sides and stand in a stainless frame for 300+. Grin

Mike, thats the winder I have.  Great for pots.  I made a rope deflector for it and it works great with a trotline just the way it is.  I drive forward and the rope trails behind the boat and by the time the bait gets to the boat, the mud is washed off.
