In 50 years, I'll have bay front property with my own 300' ramp already built.  I just need to start work on the floating piers as the water works it way up my driveway and property.   laugh laugh laugh

This was reported in the New York Times as well. Both reporters misunderstand what "subside" means. The word's root is the Latin "sidere" which means "to settle;" what the story is reporting is that the land mass is sinking, as mdjohn correctly noted. So the thesis of the articles is not only misleading, but totally wrong, at least in this case.
