Global warming is causing the polar ice caps and glaciers to melt, thus raising sea levels around the world. Al Gore might be right after all, he'll restudy that after his search for manbearpig ends.

So then things should be back to it's original condition prior to the ice age. Can't wait.

In 50 years, I'll have bay front property with my own 300' ramp already built. I just need to start work on the floating piers as the water works it way up my driveway and property.

Yep, all he needs is a few more taxes. He slipped today and said he would like to raise the sales tax again along with his other proposals! What a crock!

Rising water would be the least of your worries if you had a weekend place in Crisfield.

Depends on where it is.....even Camden, NJ has some nice places.....granted they are all along the riverfront .........go one block east and you need a bulletproof vest....

This was reported in the New York Times as well. Both reporters misunderstand what "subside" means. The word's root is the Latin "sidere" which means "to settle;" what the story is reporting is that the land mass is sinking, as mdjohn correctly noted. So the thesis of the articles is not only misleading, but totally wrong, at least in this case.
